This
gives all entrants a one in three shot at the prize list. Excellent
odds for an angling tournament and excellent odds for winning a high
dollar prize comparable with other events with many more anglers taking
part.
This event is not called the Deep Creek Challenge for nothing...it will be a true test of endurance and carp angling skills. No shelters of any kind are allowed...no cooking of food(bankside), no fires...and you need to be carefull of the bears. Even without these State Park rules Deep Creek is a very challenging venue, personally I am very excited to see just what will come out of it when there are a bunch of good anglers on the bank there, the place has hardly been fished....but, nobody who knows the venue would be surprised if a fifty shows up... Think of it as carp angling pioneering ...with substantial cash prizes... Average weight of the fish caught last year was an astonishing 27lb...

With this event (and I will bet, future ones also), you got/get EVERYTHING promised, which we know isn't always the case. That, in my eyes, is very important, and shows the character of the people hosting the event. I know, full well, when I get to the event, I only have to worry about me.
So, to that end I say thank you to Mark and Ray for the event coordination, Rick and pal for the "on top of it all" weighmastering, Sarah for her company and legwork to make sure everyone had what they needed. Craig for his company, gear lent, and help...the "food crew" for everything, and the MD Parks people.
This must have been a ton of work to pull off. It got done with exceedingly little hee-haw from anyone, especially considering this was the first event done here!

that was there to help out and take care of all the anglers when needed.
This was the first event I have ever fished that I was able to order food
and get it delivered to my peg within 20 minutes. You guys all did a great job!..Brian Capien
